Do you believe there’s enough of everything to go around? Or do you believe that there are a limited amount of resources available for a limited amount of people? If you believe the latter, you may have a scarcity mindset.

While this may give you a competitive edge as you hustle to make sure you’re one of those people that gets the limited resources, this mindset won’t make you successful. In reality, if you want to be successful and live a life of abundance (whatever that may look like to you), you need to develop an abundance mindset.

1. FOCUS ON WHAT YOU ALREADY HAVE.

When you take some time to focus on the things you already have in your life and choose to practice gratitude, you’re halfway to reaching an abundance mindset. This is because you’re looking at everything that is already in your hands, and not focusing on the things you don’t have, or think you need.

2. SURROUND YOURSELF WITH ABUNDANCE.

We’re not saying that you should max out all of your credit cards at your favorite luxury store. What we’re saying is that you should create an environment where abundance is present. The best way to do that is to surround yourself with people who have an abundance mindset as well.

See, if you’re constantly surrounded by people who believe life is against them and not happening for them, this will undoubtedly rub off on you. As they say, you become the average of the seven people you spend the most time with. So choose wisely who it is you keep in your entourage and allow it to influence your mindset.

3. TRAIN YOUR MIND FOR ABUNDANCE.

Lastly, if you want to adopt an abundance mindset, you need to train your mind to recognize the abundance of opportunities and possibilities. The reality is that what you focus on is what you see, no matter how demoralizing other options may be. Choose to focus on what you do have and what you can achieve, instead of what you don’t have and can’t do.

All in all, just remember that what you believe in is what you will receive. If you practice gratitude for what you already have, surround yourself with likeminded people, and train yourself to notice the ample opportunities around you — you will find that everything you want is headed your way.
